Detention Management
With the onset of tighter hours-of-service rules, driver detention for loading and unloading continues to be an important issue for truckers.
In real-time, the LoadMaster Detention Management module notifies the shipper of potential detention charges before the deadline, and warns them again once the detention limit has been reached.
The detention module will display, track, document, and help you bill correctly and calculate the appropriate settlement adjustments when a driver is held at a shipper’s or receiver’s location past the detention limit in your contract.
Accurately tracking and documenting the important aspects of a detention event allows LoadMaster users to bill for detention based on customized settings for each customer, according to their contract. Because of the extensive and detailed record keeping on detention events maintained in LoadMaster, frequent offenders, both shippers and consignees, on the detention front can be identified to help you negotiate better rates, or even to decide which shippers or consignees you no longer choose to serve.
Using your mobile communications/ELD system in conjunction with the McLeod Symphony Mobile Communications System module can automate and trigger arrival and departure notifications for detention records. In the absence of mobile communications, manually
dispatched movements can also initiate the arrival and departure event information. Creating detention records provides the ability to effectively measure, report, manage, and bill more accurately for driver detention.
