DataFusion and EDI
Connect with your business partners. Own your supply chain network.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is computer-to-computer communication of business documents between companies. McLeod’s EDI engine is a fully integrated part of the software, built “from the ground up” by our development team – not a bolt-on aftermarket solution. The EDI system is also a user-configurable engine, not a hard-coded custom solution. These characteristics allow us to offer unparalleled EDI communication capabilities.
McLeod’s implementation of EDI allows for data validation, before transmission, according to trading partner requirements, so you deliver transmissions specifically tailored to each individual trading partner. Another advantage many of our customers benefit from is the ability of the McLeod EDI solution to use either Value Added Networks (VANs) or direct connections on a case-by-case basis, allowing customers who choose to implement EDI solutions without incurring the cost of a VAN.
McLeod’s EDI Automatic Order Creation now has decision support tools to assist during the order acceptance process. Users can add partner specific rules that allow for auto-acceptance and auto-creation of orders on tenders received from a partner. The auto-accept criteria accepts tenders on a lane, revenue code, or bill-to basis. The ability to configure these rules for auto-acceptance saves valuable time and resources normally required to manually accept each order into the system.
DataFusion includes all of the exiting ANSI standard EDI capabilities built in our EDI Engine, and expands how we are able to communicate using LoadMaster and PowerBroker through API web services which are becoming more prominent with sophisticated shippers.
DataFusion expands your system’s capabilities to offer more communication methods, including FTP, SFTP, AS2, external API, and the new FusionAPI endpoints. This means you can send shipment information in not only the traditional EDI ANSI X12 format, but also in XML and JSON.
DataFusion extends this platform to access, format, and communicate information from your system, creating links that shippers want to further automate their electronic communication. The more information that can be shared, the faster you can react, adjust, and compete with any transportation provider to offer the most sophisticated data communication solutions available in the marketplace. DataFusion puts McLeod customers in a position to win more business, because of their technical capabilities and the ability to offer flexible communication choices that the modern shipper wants and may eventually require.
