It’s official. Savannah recorded the highest average net margin per shipment in the year's first half. Typically, these net margins occur in the year's second half, especially during peak season. The strength in net profit was enough to drive the monthly average to an all-time high of $577. Business is good for those with an extensive portfolio of refrigerated asset providers. The question is whether these types of margins hold on through the rest of the month and into May and June. We expect to observe average net margins of this magnitude beginning in July and holding on through October or November. Once asset providers catch wind of the returns logistics companies earn in this market, expect them to ask for more.
