Digital Freight Matching API
McLeod Software's Digital Freight Matching (DFM) API web service for PowerBroker allows integration of external freight capacity matching solutions with your brokerage operations.
The DFM API service provides a connection directly from the PowerBroker application to third party DFM products and services through a secure and configurable set of web service endpoints specifically designed for freight matching functions, thus allowing customers to take advantage of the benefits of those services, while at the same time limiting the amount of information that is shared outside their system. These service endpoints provide the ability for the third party DFM partner to receive notifications on newly added or updated available loads, to validate the qualification status of a given carrier based on PowerBroker’s business rules, to send capacity information on available equipment in a given area, to “cover” the load with a qualified carrier that can trigger an automated carrier rate confirmation, and to send a counteroffer on behalf of a qualified carrier for an available load.
The API web service provides flexibility for PowerBroker customers to integrate the capacity matching solutions that help their business operate more efficiently and remain competitive in the digital brokering market.
McLeod’s DFM API web service allows PowerBroker users to communicate to their DFM provider:
- Available freight movements
- Updates to available freight movements including, loads covered, cancellations and voids
- Qualified carrier list and qualification of a single carrier
- List available carrier tractors
In return, the DFM provider can communicate the following back through the PowerBroker application:
- View available carrier tractors
- Cancel available carrier tractors
- Cover loads booked through the provider’s application (Cover it Now)
- Post carrier counter offers for available freight movements
McLeod Software offers qualified third-party providers of DFM solutions access to the testing and development environment needed to build their own integration solution for PowerBroker.
