Why Attend UC2018?
Hear from Tiffany Giekes, VP Business Process & Technology for Decker Truck Line
You have come back to McLeod Software’s User Conference year after year, why?
"I find McLeod’s UC to be a great forum to engage with other McLeod customers and learn how they are utilizing the software. Another reason I go is to learn what products McLeod is releasing and to learn about modules Decker might currently own but hasn’t fully utilized to its maximum potential yet."
What has been most valuable for your company in sending team members to UC?
"I like bringing new people to the conference yearly to expose them to all of McLeod’s business offerings and introduce them to other customers who use McLeod. (Networking)"
McLeod’s UC is one of the industry’s biggest trade shows with nearly 80 technology exhibitors; how has that been valuable?
"I like seeing what the vendors are doing in their space and how that product interacts with McLeod. It is so important to know what is going on in the vendor space, and if it integrates with McLeod. To be honest, if the vendor doesn’t interact with McLeod, it makes the product less desirable, because we can’t unify the data in the TMS."
Are there people from other companies you met at UC and stay in touch with?
"I think the networking portion of the conference is one of the biggest advantages of attending. There is a group I like to keep up with outside of the conference, mainly to share ideas or to get testimonials from different vendors."
How would you rate McLeod’s UC as a training opportunity for you and your team members?
"The first McLeod User Conference I went to, I spent a lot of timing in the training room. It is nice to engage with the expert from McLeod on a particular topic. I always recommend the training to other participants, especially if they are having trouble with a specific function of the software."
Has McLeod’s UC been valuable to you in terms of formulating plans for the future?
"McLeod’s roadmap for upcoming versions helps the business decide which version to move to next, and helps us understand where McLeod is focusing their time and energy. Every conference thus far has helped me build a path internally for the company on where we should focus our time, and what we can wait for with future functionality from McLeod."
