Job Title:                     Quality Assurance Analyst

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring quality.  Involved at every stage of the products’ development, the Quality Assurance Analyst sets standards, introduces and reviews procedures, and educates people in ways to design and develop products.  The Quality Assurance Analyst performs testing of software applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops, executes and improves component test plans and test cases of software applications, including integration, system and regression testing in accordance with QA standards.
• Creates and maintains test systems, including test cases, test data, hardware setup, and software installations.
• Ensures that new and existing components being released are reliable and function as documented.
• Verifies problem fixes in a detailed, efficient, and timely manner through Black Box testing.
• Participates in customer acceptance testing of the applications.
• Assists internal and external customers with installations and issue resolution of software products.
• Sets standards, introduces and reviews procedures for the system lifecycle.  This includes the entire set of activities that occur in development, deployment, and use of the system, from initial specification and design through implementation and testing, to support and maintenance.
• Proposes and implements QA planning, quality metrics, and process improvements to increase defect prevention, component-development efficiency, and customer-perceived quality, in a cost efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in SQA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites.
• Working knowledge in software design, development, integration and testing through experience, training or education.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a strong team player and be able to work in a dynamic team environment.

Education

• Position requires a minimum of a BS or BA degree.  Major in Computer Science, MIS or Accounting-related field is preferred.  Extensive work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
