McLeod Software Introduces EDI for Logistics Module
New module for PowerBroker™ enterprise management system

Birmingham, Ala. – October 4, 2007 – McLeod Software, a leading provider of dispatch, accounting and enterprise management solutions for trucking and brokerage firms, today announced at its annual Users' Conference a new EDI For Logistics Module for its PowerBroker™ enterprise management system. The new Electronic Data Interchange capability will allow brokers and logistics operations to handle higher volumes, engage larger carriers and more effectively serve larger customers.

“EDI for Logistics reflects our ongoing effort to develop powerful new features and advanced capabilities for PowerBroker customers in the brokerage and logistics markets,” said Tom McLeod, president and founder of McLeod Software. “McLeod Software is the only transportation software vendor to develop and incorporate a complete EDI engine into its products. This new module provides for enhanced visibility of EDI transactions, improved accuracy and faster order fulfillment in real time. This is technology that can help businesses enhance customer service and expand without the need to hire more staff.”

With EDI for Logistics, customers can offer tenders (outbound 204) to a carrier, receive acknowledgements (997), responses (990) and status updates (214) in real-time with the click of a button, and without manual intervention. The module's table-driven configuration options allow accommodation of most customer requirements without programming.

The integration of EDI for Logistics with PowerBroker screens provides the tools necessary to automate and streamline business processes, and save money and time by eliminating mailing costs, phone calls, faxes and redundant data entry. In addition, McLeod's EDI transmits data in a true format (ANSI), allowing the option to bypass a VAN and character fees associated with it.
