McLeod University Training Classes

McLeod University classes will be held on Wednesday, September 20, of the User Conference. These training classes are offered to those customers who participate in the conference.McLeod University provides advanced hands-on classroom training and instruction on various parts of our software systems. It is an optional part of the Users’ Conference with a fee of $450/person per class. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to advance your training.

Participants in McLeod University will receive up to five hours of advanced training, as described for each class, as well as breakfast, lunch, and a certificate of completion for your class.

Note: McLeod Software will petition the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy to obtain approval for CPE credits for some of these classes. We should know approximately one month prior to the conference which classes qualify and how many credits can be obtained for each.

A Primer of Operational Reporting

This Primer of Operational Reporting workshop will provide you with a refreshed and exciting look at the powerful suite of reports within LoadMaster®/PowerBroker®. This unique workshop will offer insight on how apply the information pulled from these reports toward your daily business, so that you can go back to work and immediately be able to effect positive change to your bottom line. In this workshop, you will learn how to run these reports and the various ways to glean powerful information from your system, as well as learn ways to interpret and present the data you need and apply the information reported to your organization.

Custom Financials and Advanced Accounting Class

  • 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

This hands-on class provides an in-depth training on the Custom Financials report writer within the LoadMaster and PowerBroker systems. You will create financials ranging from a simple income statement to more advanced reports that may include revenue/cost per mile, percentages, budget information and prior period/year activity. We will also review the creation of a balance sheet, a cash flow statement, and consolidated financials across multiple companies.

We will cover advanced Billing and AR items such as split bills, proper credit/rebills, and cash receipt adjustments. Advanced Settlement items such as garnishment processing, and escrow accounting for owner operators will also be discussed. Advanced Accounts Payable will elaborate upon division codes, expense allocations, and credit card payment options. Advanced General Ledger will cover how to search for and find information as well as discuss proper end of period procedures.

McLeod IQ Workshop

  • 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

The workshop will include hands-on demonstration of the McLeod IQ product. We will introduce Business Intelligence (BI) terminology and take an in-depth look at the process and procedures that go into setting up the McLeod Data Warehouse and the data cube. Learn best practices for maintaining and refreshing your data. We will demonstrate how the data dimensions are defined and how the KPI measures are calculated. As part of the demonstration, we will also navigate the LoadMaster and PowerBroker applications and show examples of how McLeod IQ aggregates the data and provides for multi-dimensional views. This hands-on workshop gives you the chance to build both basic and advanced reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI. The advanced techniques include trending, predictive models, custom calculations, including external data sources, Big Data, etc. Learn how to publish and distribute reports and dashboards using permissions within LoadMaster and PowerBroker.
