Job Title: JAVA Programmer
Position Summary:
The Java developer will provide assistance with software support and troubleshooting through interaction with the customer and/or customer support personnel. Additionally, the developer will also perform custom modifications to the customer’s software. This will require interaction with the customer and/or their project manager to determine the needs and requirements necessary for a successful change. Other duties include development of new and/or existing modules to the Loadmaster product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with both customer and project manager to clearly define work objectives
- Interpret functional specs and provide corresponding technical specs
- Perform coding duties within specified timeframe
- Provide documentation and testing for modifications
- Analyze customer modification requests to help determine the programming changes needed to meet the customers expectations
- Provide written specifications and time estimates for modifications (estimated hours and due dates)
- Provide troubleshooting assistance to project managers, support personnel, and trainers
- Learn the LoadMaster package in order to enhance ability to make effective modifications
- Provide programming training to customers when necessary
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year experience with JAVA, J2EE, XML, SQL, and UML.
- Experience with one or more or the following DBMS (SQL Server, ORACLE, DB2).
Education:
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 is preferred, but not required.
